History:
In the spring of 1995, Mike Molstead became aware of the opportunity to
purchase Richard's Motors and Excel Motors in Charles City, Iowa. They
were small dealerships selling approximately 20 vehicles a month from
two locations with a staff of 14 employees. After visiting America's
Hometown, Mike and Paula decided Charles City would be the perfect
place to own a business and raise their family of five, Jordan, Joshua,
Jared, and Julia and Jackson. So on April 1, 1995, Mike Molstead Motors
was open for business at two locations, one downtown and the other
about 3 miles south of town. Mike ran the dealership virtually by
himself for the first few months and slowly added staff and quickly
added customers. On June 1, 1997, we moved to our current location on
the south edge of Charles City to a brand new facility all at one
address. Mike now has 38 full time employees and we sell an average of
100 cars a month. We are proud of our community, our employees, and our
customers and are completely committed to all of them!

Mike Molstead Motors is located in the heart of Iowa in America's
Hometown, Charles City. With our brand new facility, we have the look
of a big city dealership but the atmosphere of a small town business.
